Touch the Sky

I took this picture from the summit of Flat Top Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.  I had hiked up to the summit and found a nice flat slab of rock to lie down on and listen to the Pikas’ squeaks and the gentle wind punctuating the stillness of midday.  It was a priceless moment.  At almost 12,000 feet above sea level, the clouds seemed close enough to touch, and they entranced me as they sailed across the bright blue sky.  For a colour shot from this hike see this photo.  This image is part of Monochrome Weekly.
