Spring Skyline

One aspect of Toronto’s skyline on a fine spring day recently.  You will note the lack of greenery at the waterfront, which is the result of decades of poor urban planning for the waterfront.  In days gone by, developers and carpet baggers had their way with politicians and bureaucrats who let them run amok with concrete and lacklustre design.  The result is concrete and pavement all the way to the water.  After a few decades of that the powers that be have now arguably seen the light and swear to make amends.  The only problem is that they don’t seem to have the will to actually do much of substance in a timely manner.  So, for now, we settle for feeble and incremental improvements to chip away at the concrete monolith.
